Get a Stealth IO for one of your travel powers. The running or jumping
ones go nicely in Sprint or a Prestige Sprint.

Hmmm. Good point. I have a full set of FREEBIRD on Fly, so I have
the stealth power. I was going to slot another set of Freebird on
Hover, then I read that they don't stack, so I may just pick defensive
IO's and drop the Concealment Pool for the Leadership pool, and when I
get my Fitness pool properly refilled with IO's I won't have any
problem leaving the Leadership powers and my healing aura toggled on
all the time. Having read about the importants of Clear Mind in
battles with the Hamidon and with the Rikti in the warzone, I will
need to juggle some slots there too.
If I slot 3 level 47 IO into my stamina for endurance recovery, would
that cap me out at the max I can modify that power?
I'm a big fan of the fitness pool, and use it with most of my
characters.

Gee! I have a MM and she never has to haul her zombies anywhere! They
do an amazingly good job of keeping up with her, even when she flies
away at top speed.

Oh no! Really?

Yes, that would just about do it. You might get a fraction of a
percent more out of three level 50 IOs, and you wouldn't get much more
than you would with three green SOs or even level 30 IOs, but it would
be about as far as you could take it.

That's because once you get to a certain range from them they're
teleported to you.
Even if you have told them to hold their position, as you as you get to
that range, bing, there they are.

I was thinking more of robotics than anything else, since the bot
attacks are all ranged and they have a distressing tendency to run into
melee to use their weaker melee attacks and get thumped by the enemy's
much stronger melee attacks - keep them off the ground and they
shouldn't be running anywhere.

Plus flying bots have a cool rocket boot effect.

Yes really - in fact they seem to have gone out of their way to
guarantee it by making flight speed bonuses only count for the person
with them - ie a flight speed enhancement in swift (which is relatively
new it used to only take run speed enhancements) will boost the flier's
speed, but not the people he's hauling.
Makes no real sense, since it's still a power used by the person with
the bonus, so the bonus effect should apply to all under it.

The workaround for players is for the group fly person to follow one of
the people he's flying so he doesn't get out of range - obviously this
doesn't work well for an MM + pets.

With the caveat that those free stealth effects are NOT as good as
stealth from the concealment pool, or the invisibility of an
illusionist.

Get close to something while using freebird stealth, and they WILL
detect you, when they wouldn't with real stealth (I have a stealth suit
temp power and tested it.)

The free stealths are good enough if you can keep a minimum distance
from things and are more than good enough to conceal you from snipers in
the zones where they are (and quite possibly good enough for a
superjumper landing near baddies at the bottom of the arc as long as he
doesn't linger and doesn't land right beside something.)

Since they're "free" it's ok that they aren't as good.

....of course for a mastermind to haul pets.

Speaking of which has anyone tried that? How well does it work? I
got a bots/dark MM w/ fly and I never really considered group fly for
them. Is it of any use? Or just for the novelty?

It can be quite useful--certainly more so than on a team. (After all,
your bots won't complain about being lifted off the ground.)

Situations where it comes in handy include:

- versus flying adversaries, or adversaries in spots not easy to reach
by ground (there is an acc penalty, but if you've slotted well for
accuracy you'll at least hit some of the time)

- in outdoor zones or instanced maps where you want to move your bots
from place to place in a hurry/without aggroing everything in sight
(for instance, in Warburg when you've rescued a scientist and want to
get back to the tunnel for the next one)

- in caves, office buildings, or other maps with a lot of vertical,
especially that huge five-level room that's the "boss room" in a lot
of caves.

It is a little bit awkward over long distances; you either have to
make frequent pauses so you don't outfly the bots, or else set a "go
to" click macro (in much the same way as you'd set a teleport click
macro), set follow onto one of your bots, and keep clicking in the
direction where you want to go. All the same, it is pretty handy for
positioning at times.
