So I'm trying to start up CoB for the first time in a while and I've got
a video bug that won't let me. I run a 9800GTX card driving two
monitors, main is a 1920x1200 widescreen and sidebar is a 1200x1600
fullpage.

This setup has worked flawlessly through at least three upper-end nVidia
cards and countless driver updates.

Now, I get about one-quarter of the splash screen on the main display
and nothing else. When I start in safe mode, I get a full (grainy)
display, but the mouse cursor is off by about 1/20 of the vertical
height - I have to position the pointer a ways below the click point to
get it to highlight.

I've tried a number of setting changes but with the screen screwed up
it's hard. I can't fix the problem - yes, I've rebooted the system, etc.

The ONLY change I've made to the system since the last successful
session was to update the driver to 177.79 a week or so ago. Have been
no other problems.

Is this a known bug? Is there a fix? Cheeze, I get a City jones and
can't scratch it!

N'mind. Yep, the 177.79 drivers are buggy, apparently under Vista 64 only.
I'd swear they were noted as WHQL, but the DL page now notes them as WHQL
Candidate.

Rolled back to the last set and everything is fine now. Of course, now I'm
out of time to play, too. Life ain't fair.

Tuff break Shen but at least you figured out the issue so you should
be good to go when you get some time
