The principle character cant die, it's irrelevant how many badies you kill, and you can't fight the Big Boss. In Morrowind there were real choices, here everything's linear. |

Possible spoiler space .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. After it was all over I sat there for a bit thinking "how the heck does this character just walk out of here and go on with "normal life"?? I ended up back in Bruma soon afterwards and had some drunk trying to sing a "victory song" about the fight at me. I had the momentary urge to punch him in the face. Successful RPG for me. ![]() I have no idea if its WHY I liked it, but I'm a woman and found myself becoming VERY protective of Martin. Not sure that being female was WHY I had that response, but maybe I got something different out of the story than a guy would? Not having a husband who's a gamer I've often wondered that when playing a game. Guys? Thoughts? Do you tend to become attachted to characters in RPGs? Protective? Do you get emotionally involved in teh story? (gah and I thought I WASN'T as emotional as most women lol) Tandaina |

SPOILER (maybe?): .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. Actually Martin died about 5 times before I managed to finish that final rush to the temple. (two were MY fault, forgot I was using a bow with an AE on it, oops) Now the VERY end, well its basically a movie so yeah you have no control. In Daggerfall I did like the fact that you had a choice at the end but not a HUGE choice because history proceeded in a set way anyway according to the follow up games. ![]() I agree that the choices aren't there. It sort of fit the story though. In both Daggerfall and Morrowind the FINAL outcome (history) ends up the same anyway. At least each new game tells history the same way no matter what you might have done back there. The differences here (between if Martin had lived or died) are simply so huge it would break the history line for any new game. I can see why they did it. But you're right, it definately feels like there is less control. (Maybe that was the point. This was a rather desperate and "hopeless" storyline with really only two outcomes, failure or success) |

I've not done the storyline yet. I'm being specifically vague. I felt bad betraying my guild members and wish there was an option for me do otherwise but there wasn't. So to answer your question, don't know about the other gents in here but I felt bad about some of the things. I've created a character for every skill and ethic I'd like to approach. I've a 'moral' thief, an amoral Dark elf battlemage and a very good pure mage. Cheers |

The power/strength/wealth HAS to have a weakness. Bar none, there is nothing sexier than a powerful/strong man who honestly needs a woman for something. So I suppose a powerful/wealthy manwho happened to be on the run from deadly deadric backed assasins and only I can save him? Yeah that'd work. ![]() > Well I found that I had to do a dastardly dead in one of my > guild quests. I'm being specifically vague. You just followed the instructions given to you earlier and waited for the magic to happen(or stop happening, as the case may be). -- Greg Johnson |
