| One of the things that really annoy me in Oblivion is that whilst there are many "training" areas (and I use the term lightly) dotted around Tamriel, in places like the Fighters Guild, Battlehorn Castle etc, they are incredibly useless as none of the training equipment actually allows the player to develop their skills, and appear to be little more than ornamental clutter. For instance, I can punch a punchbag for hours and not raise my hand-to-hand skills one iota. Is there a mod out there that allows these items to be used as proper training/workout equipment? Paul. |

Kumiko Manor has a training area that will create "phantom" monsters for you to attack. It does not affect training equipment, though. |

I use OC in my game (makes the world more immersive) but I'm worried about mod conflict issues. Paul. |

Kumiko Manor itself is way down on Topal Bay, near where vile Lair puts its expansion. There are a few other places down there that it puts buildings (all well away from Leyawiin). But they are pretty well out of the way of almost anything. I would expect it not to interfere with much by either scripts or construction. I have not had any difficulties with it. |

I have not had any difficulties with it. -- Open Cities v2.1: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16360 I gave Kumiko Manor a try last night and there didn't seem to be any conflict issues wuth OC from what I could see, but then I only spent a couple of hours playing. Most of the time, I was just getting lost in the manor itself. Other than the garish lighting and shocking armour colours, it seems like a good mod, but I've not played long enough yet to trigger the associated quests. As you say, it's so far away from Leyawiin it shouldn't really impact on the OC mod anyway - all OC does is place the all the cities (except for the Imperial City) into the main worldspace. Paul. |

The same thing can maybe be used here. In the arena district there are an ongoing training session between two npc's Watching them fight for a couple of minutes will raise your hand2hand skill five points Battlehorn Castle (official mod) has a trainer that will train you in melee. Blade, Blunt or Hand2hand, the choice is yours. If you kill him he will respawn, but he also has a daily schedule and is only available at certain hours. Arborwatch basement (mod) - not sure of the exact name - add a huge underground area to your house in Chorrol includes a trainer who will fight you with your choice of melee weapon. But unlike the Battlehorn trainer, he will not ask you first. You will have to start. When you want to stop, just yield to him, and he will be your friend again You can place him in your house by a console command: player.placeatme ID merlin |
