| And there's no need for a server emulator either, excerpts from the Skidrow message: "Thank you Ubisoft, this was quite a challenge for us, but nothing stops the leading force from doing what we do. Next time focus on the game and not on the DRM. It was probably horrible for all legit users. We just make their lifes easier." "This release is an accomplishment of weeks of investigating, experimenting, testing and lots of hard work. We know that there is a server emulator out in the open, which makes the game playable, but when you look at our cracked content, you will know that it can't be compared to that. Our work does not construct any program deviation or any kind of host file paradox solutions. Install game and copy the cracked content, it's that simple." So they mangaed to hold the pirates at bay (ok, bad pun) for about a month but at what cost? I'm guessing a lot more money than they bargained for (bad pun #2) and worse, whatever was left of their reputation. Now what, you ask? If they had any sense left UberShit should release a DRM free patch to their stupidly stupid legit customers since they have nothing to gain anymore from this epic mess. |

| Thanks Skidrow for providing customer service, Ubisoft should have provided :-) I still will not buy the game unless Ubisoft releases a patch for it :-) Werner Am 22.04.10 00:31, schrieb Static Void: > And there's no need for a server emulator either, excerpts from the > Skidrow message: > > "Thank you Ubisoft, this was quite a challenge for us, but nothing stops > the leading force from doing what we do. Based on Ubisoft's history, it's likely that Skidrow's crack will become the DRM patch. http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2...-pc-gaming.ars |

Funny as this crack might spark sales for Ubi, in that people might now consider buying it and using the crack, I know I am ![]() Cheers Dre |

| Its weird how the pirates become the good guys isn't it? If there was zero piracy there would be no need for stringent copy protection. Yes I hate some of the DRM thats used today and yes I agree the legit customer can become a victim but its a vicious circle that starts with piracy. |

Agreed. As soon as they officially patch out the DRM, I will buy the game, buy not one second before. Flo |

Copy protection is quickly evolving into a way for the companies to prevent people from re-selling their used games. If there was no piracy, the companies would probably simply call the people who sell their used games "pirates". Flo |
