Default Finally Back to Hodir With an Alt

Gads I don't remember it taking so long to get to Hodir when I was
running my priest through Storm Peaks.

Have to at least get there for the Honored Shoulder buff. And I have 6
more to follow between my toons and my kids.

Gonna be spending a lot of time in the peaks over the next few weeks
between Heroics.

Then one day when I shoot for exalted damn I'm gonna be parked at the
Hodir Hotel and sleeping with a piece of ice for a pillow.

But...

I do expect the gold is going to pile high up there.

I mean 7 toons running the daily grinds on the way to exalted?

And I know my Nik will jsut want to have that mammoth Ice Mammoth, for
sure!

Sorry I could nto figure out a way to turn this into 3 posts!

OH! OH! OH!

You don't? Gah, I'd been putting off this quest chain on my Priest
forever just because I knew it took forever (well, perhaps not to
some, but when you work full-time, it's a different story. I get home,
raid, then have to go to bed - doesn't leave much time for anything
else).

My Priest is a Champion of the Frozen Wastes, and still hadn't started
that quest chain. That's how long I'd been putting it off. :P

> I do expect the gold is going to pile high up there.

Yeah. I did the quest chain this past weekend, and between all the
level 80 quest gold rewards and various vendor trash, I think she
netted 400 gold.

I kinda wish they would improve the enchants a little. You can buy the
PvP one with shards you don't even have to go out of your way to
obtain. It is +23 spell power (plus res). The one I want from Exalted
Hodir is +24 spell power and +8 Mp5. I dunno. Seems like a lot of work
for 1 more spell power and 8 Mp5.

With a normal flying mount, it was taking me 10-15 minutes to get from
the Hodir camp - or at where it would be - to Thor up in the tower. I
think I did that twice before deciding to pack it in and never return
without an epic flier.

LOL!

You just brought back memories of Skettis while I was still saving up
gold for epic flyers in the Outlands.

There was a tree. Fly baby fly. Almost there.

Damn! Someone just rushed in and bombed them!

And I can only imagine flying to Thorim's with a snail flyer.

Good luck in your quest for epic flying!

Hmm, I'll have to look up the other ones that are available with
shards. Maybe they have some nice ones for a hunter to grab until a
future date.

Oh dear! I just said "look up" as if I am going to check WoWiki or
Thott.

But then I won't get to talk to my friends!

LoL, bingo! Since all I really did on my Priest was run instances to
get to level 80, I don't have a lot of gold on her - just over 1K, so
she doesn't have epic flying, either. My Paladin main has 35K gold,
and could give my Priest the gold, but I want her to earn it herself -
a decision I was really questioning this weekend every time I had to
fly back and forth between Thorim and the Anvil place.

Fortunately I was chilling with my tankadin buddy, and his Crusader
Aura helped, but it was rather funny seeing him on his Proto-Drake,
and flying for two yards, stopping while I caught up on my slow flying
carpet, flying for two yards, stopping while I caught up, etc. :P

SoH rep is a great example of why I play the AH game to keep a nice pile of
gold on hand. 1530 relics @ 1.2-1.5g each and I'm exalted roughly 8
million mouse clicks after hitting friendly...

Still haven't tried any of their dailies...

You mean

Blowing Hodir's Horn
Thrusting Hodir's Spear
Polishing the Helm
etc

the names bugged me somehow :-)

Someone wrote a post here last year about the inferences of those
quests.

Depending how high the gold is piled up currently, you may get to avoid
sleeping with Hodir(okay, so you might not sleep with him, but let's face
it, you blow his horn, polish his helmet, and handle his spear, so I mean,
it's the logical next step). Do the (very long)questline to open Hodir, do
whatever other quests they have there at the start which should take you to
Honored or so, then you can buy Relics of Ulduar and turn them in for rep. I
went from hostile to exalted with them in roughly 6 hours time that way. Of
course, I had gold, and didn't have patience, your mileage(or funds) may
vary.

I just got the ice mammoth the day before yesterday. Not sure why, I don't
really see myself hitting 100 mounts, yet...I still sometimes work on it.

When my paladin got there, it took approximately an hour to hit exalted.

Most of that was the trip to and from the Auction House. And you can only
turn the darn things in so fast.

On my server, 1500g or so buys your way to shoulder enchants. I regret
nothing.
